I found a full text book online from the National Library of Scotland. Its title is A Genealogical Account of the Highland Families of Shaw by Alexander MacKIntosh Shaw published in 1877. Just over 100 pages, it traces the Shaw family back to the Macduff family in the 1000s.
I like the quote from the preface. Click on the image of the book to browse the ful-text.

An article about our 8th great grandfather, Obadiah Holmes, and the international influence his punishment had on the future of the Puritan colony. I blogged about him several months ago because of the brutal beating he received from the Puritans over showing disrespect in a Puritan church.
There is a John Clarke also mentioned prominently in this article. He was an influential Baptist minister in his time. I am trying to verify some info I’m seeing on the Dunn side of the family, but if what I am finding is correct, John Clarke is a great grandfather of our great grandmother Jennie Dunn Brooks. That means Obadiah Holmes from the paternal Knowlton line in our family of Grandpa Jones was friends with John Clarke from the maternal branch of the family of Grandma Jones in Rhode Island way back in the 1600s. Coincidence? So is there a picnic on the agenda for your holiday weekend? Here is an easy recipe I have made a few times and always comes out very tasty. Just pull out the crockpot and make a couple side dishes to make along with your sandwiches.

Bonnie EastonHi! I am a Jones cousin, daughter of Evelyn Jones Easton. Since retiring as a reference librarian after 20 years, I have become a genealogy addict. Our ancestors want to tell us their stories.
